A safe and empowered Mobile for all residents and visitors.

What We Do:

Ways we work in the community

01

Community Organizing

Our goal is not to create dependance on Mobile Initiative's programming in the community. Through effective community organizing Mobile Initiative looks to create new, rejuvenated, and long lasting bridges between residents and the pillars of their communities. Bringing elected officials, law enforcement, local businesses, community based organizations and residents to the table will create a strong network for every neighborhood that promotes deep-rooted and positively impactful change. Through engagements such as neighborhood safety meetings and block clubs, every voice inspired for change can strategize and collaborate for safer neighborhoods.

02

Neighborhood Development

Every community has a slightly different idea of what neighborhood safety means, and with that notion Mobile Initiative has a long list of available community projects that can be done. Whether the community decides to take a more direct approach to safety through Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, or wants to tackle the issue of neighborhood development through the installation of public art Mobile Initiative is prepared to organize.

03

Partner Networking

At the center of every strong community and the heart of neighborhood safety is a strong partner network. Anyone who is willing to share in the mission and vision of Mobile Initiative, be it law enforcement, elected officials, residents, or community based organizations can be a partner. Our organizers are representatives of Mobile Initiative, but their representation doesn't stop there. As organizers we represent the mission and vision of the organization and all of the partners willing to work towards that. Those partnerships become a steadfast network supported and strengthened through the organizing bridge built by the organizers bringing their partnerships with them to every interaction.

04

Youth Programming

We recognize the youth as the future community leaders to work towards neighborhood safety. This means that the youth need to be engaged and involved in the conversations about what neighborhood safety looks like in their community. Youth Programming ranges from an after school program that engages youth in a constructive way to having youth voices present at neighborhood meetings. Engaging residents to pass on the skills of organizing is not exclusive to the aged and wisened, sometimes a community leader is a youthful voice who just needs the opportunity to speak.
